Ray Boykin Ph.D

Raymond F. Boykin, Ph.D. is a founding faculty member of the SAP program at California State University, Chico (CSU, Chico) in 1994 and was director of the program from 1998 to 2012. He was a founding faculty member of the SAP University Alliance Program, established in 1997, and served on the advisory board until 2011. Dr. Boykin is also Professor Emeritus at CSU, Chico, and retired from Virginia State University in 2018, where he was a research professor. He received his Ph.D. in Business Administration (Management Science) at St. Louis University. Dr. Boykin has published many research articles in the areas of enterprise systems, supply chain management, operations management, and risk assessment and management, and has received over 40 research and development grants. He has been an SAP certified consultant since 1997, co-authored a book entitled Enterprise Integration (Prentice Hall, 2001), and co-authored the first textbook on ERP systems configuration entitled Business Process Configuration with SAP (Epistemy Press, 2017).

Nancy Jones CMA, CSCA

Nancy has industry experience as a systems administrator, corporate controller, and business consultant. She left “corporate America” to teach full time in accounting and information systems for California State University-Chico in 2005 and in 2013 transferred her skills to San Diego State University, where she currently teaches several graduate-level courses in accounting and information systems. Known for innovative teaching and curricula development, Nancy is heavily involved in the SAP University Alliances, particularly in the area of data analytics and business intelligence. She is extremely sought-after for analytics and accounting information systems presentations, training, and workshops. A self-proclaimed accounting analytics evangelist, Nancy believes that all accountants and finance people need to learn to understand the data better. Nancy’s co-authored textbook, Practical Analytics, was published by Epistemy Press in February 2016.

Meagan Knoll MBA

Meagan (Luttenton) Knoll is a clinical affiliate faculty at Grand Valley State University. She has been teaching management information systems, systems analysis, general business, and enterprise resource management courses for a little over 10 years. Along with teaching, she currently serves as a member of the ERP Program committee. The ERP Program curriculum can be found in over 54 class sections, across all business majors, impacting over 2,000 undergraduate and graduate students at Grand Valley. In congruence with her participation in the ERP Program, she is advisor for the ERP Program’s student group the ESSU An ASUG Student Chapter. The Enterprise Systems Student Union (ESSU) is the first student organization, open to all majors, at GVSU created specifically for students interested in Enterprise Systems/ERP. The purpose of this organization is to provide a better understanding of enterprise systems and to provide a link between the university and companies who utilize enterprise systems. The organization hosts the ERP speaker series, provides networking opportunities with companies, conducts resume workshops and practice interviews, and provides tutoring to management information systems students. Meagan received the Pew Teaching with Technology award in 2016. Before teaching, she was the director of information technology for an International trade organization listed in the top 10% of trade associations in the US.

Simha R. Magal Ph.D.

Simha R. Magal, Ph.D. is the co-founder and co-CEO of Epistemy Press. He is also a professor of management (MIS) and director of the ERP program, in the Seidman College of Business at Grand Valley State University. He received his doctorate in information systems from the University of Georgia and his research has appeared in such publications as MIS Quarterly, Journal of MIS, and Information and Management. Dr. Magal has taught courses related to business processes and enterprise systems, using SAP, for more than a decade. He is an SAP-certified associate consultant, a TERP10 academy instructor, and has co-authored two textbooks: Essentials of Business Processes and Information Systems (Wiley, 2009) and Integrated Business Processes with ERP Systems (Wiley 2012). He is also a member of the SAP Mentors, the most influential community participants in the SAP ecosystem.

Thomas McGinnis Ph.D.

Thomas McGinnis has industry experience as a software developer, business analyst, system administrator and ERP consultant. His 16 years in the chemicals sector focused on systems migration, enterprise information systems, and business process reengineering. As a consultant, his expertise centered on the configuration and implementation of ERP systems. Tom also has 15 years of experience in academia. He has a master of science and a Ph.D. degree in the field of business information systems; he is an SAP-certified Associate Consultant and TERP10 academy instructor. Tom has developed and taught courses in enterprise resource planning (using SAP), business intelligence and data warehousing. He is active in his local ASUG Chapter, frequently presenting new and developing aspects of business intelligence at chapter meetings. Tom’s research work has appeared in peer-reviewed journals, book chapters, and numerous conference proceedings.

Lauren Eder Ph.D., MBA

Lauren Eder is professor of information systems and the SAP University Alliance coordinator in the College of Business Administration at Rider University. She received her Ph.D. and MBA from Drexel University, and BS from Boston University. Dr. Eder engages students with an active learning approach, using SAP software extensively in her classes to teach a variety of ERP and business analytics courses to undergraduate and graduate business students. She has also taught the Rider EMBA international seminar since 2009, traveling with students to a variety of countries in Africa, Asia, Europe, and Latin America. Her research interests involve the adoption and diffusion of information systems and technology. Prior to joining Rider University, Dr. Eder worked for IBM and Digital Equipment Corporation.

Camille Rogers Ed.D.

Dr. Camille Rogers is an associate professor of information systems, graduate SAP program director, and the SAP University Alliances coordinator in the Parker College of Business at Georgia Southern University. She also served for three years as the interim chair for the school’s Department of Information Systems.

Dr. Rogers has 25 years of academic teaching and consulting experience and is a published author of several textbooks, journal articles, and conference proceedings. Dr. Rogers received her doctorate degree in STEM curriculum education from Georgia Southern and her MBA and BBA in information systems from Eastern New Mexico University, as well as an associate degree in avionics electronics technology from the Community College of the Air Force (CCAF). She has extensive teaching experience in SAP software, including SAP Business Process, ERP configuration, ABAP programming, SAP NetWeaver Portal, SAP Fiori, SAP Screen Personas, mobile app development, and SAP Certification. She is an SAP certified business associate and instructor for various SAP systems and also specializes in teaching programming languages to include Java, VB.NET, COBOL, and Pascal. Dr. Rogers is known for professionally mentoring students both in and outside the classroom and is actively engaged with ASUG’s Georgia and Carolinas chapters. Prior to her academic career, she served for seven years in the U.S. Air Force as an integrated avionics technology specialist. During her service, she received numerous awards, including the National Defense Service Medal.

Jeff Word Ph.D.

Jeff Word is the head of ASUG University at America’s SAP User Group (ASUG). He is the author or co-author of the bestselling books Business Process Integration with SAP ERP, SAP HANA Essentials, Integrated Business Processes with ERP, Essentials of Business Processes and Information Systems, Business Network Transformation and SAP NetWeaver for Dummies.

Jeff has more than 25 years of leadership experience in business and IT strategy working for Fortune 1000 companies. During his 17 years as an executive at SAP, Jeff drove key aspects of multiple groundbreaking product and technology strategic initiatives, including SAP HANA, SAP NetWeaver, and the SAP Developer Network.

He is a frequent speaker at industry events around the world and is very active teaching IT strategy at leading universities. He was a distinguished visiting scholar at the Queensland University of Technology in Australia, and held visiting professor posts at the Instituto de Empresa Business School in Spain and San Jose State University, teaching MBA courses in technology-driven business innovation.

Dr. Word earned his PhD in Information Systems at Manchester Business School. His research focus was event-driven process design and next-generation enterprise architecture. He also earned an MBA in International Management from the Thunderbird School of Global Management and a BA in European Studies/Spanish from the University of Oklahoma.
